Activity of the council is centered around Texas Tech University graduate students who are our constituency and who entrusted us by electing us to the council.
Show Don’t Tell
We belive that actions speak louder than words. Whenever any council member brings up an idea s/he needs to be ready to take a lead on it.
Bias Toward Action
We value doing things over planing or discussing.
The ultimate test of any idea is its implementation. We test ideas and decide if they are worth repeating in the future.
Empathy is the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts or attitudes of others. Empathy develops through a process ‘needfinding’ in which one focuses on discovering graduate students’ explicit and implicit needs. (Adapted from Rauth & Co. 2010)
Two heads are better than one (for the most part). The more diverse a team is the more innovative its products and the better quality of its decisions.
